Miley Cyrus takes on diabetes

Disney decided to cancel Miley Cyrus' Hannah Montana episode on diabetes and she is not a happy camper. However, Miley knows there's more ways than one to skin a cat. She's fighting back in her own way to support the cause.

One of Miley's closest friends and for a while, rumored romantic interest, Nick Jonas, suffers from diabetes. So this is obviously something that's close to her heart and she was probably looking forward to doing a show about the issue. But, since Disney is no longer allowing that to happen, Miss Cyrus has taken matters into her own hands.



She's been spotted abroad for the past couple of weeks carrying water bottles from a company called Hint, who coincidentally just launched a diabetes-minded campaign called, "Drink Water, Not Sugar."

The message is written on the wall bottle. Now that's an interesting way to make a statement!

False Rumors Claim Miley Cyrus Is Dead

Contrary to fast-spreading rumors planted by pranksters on Digg.com and Wikipedia, 15-year-old Miley Cyrus, pop singer and star of the Disney Channel's Hannah Montana TV series, did not die in a car crash on Friday, September 5.

As of Saturday morning, no such accident had been reported in any legitimate news source. The story is a hoax -- and a poorly spelled one, at that.

One version, attributed to "Rueters", reads as follows:

Teen star of the hit Disney television series "Hannah Montana" Miley Cyrus appears to have died in a tragic car accident in the early hours of Friday morning. The young starlet was on her way to the filiming of the upcoming "Hannah Montanna"Series when her vehicle was reportedly hit by a large truck. Witnesses estimate that the colliding vehicle was travelling at "At least 55mph" and had "Run a stop sign." Although rushed in a critical condition to Pacific Alliance Medical Centre, the news broke quickly amongst reporters that the teen had succumbed to her injuries during surgery.

A picture of the Hannah Montana star showering in a wet t-shirt has been leaked online after a hacker at DigitalGangster.com accessed the actress’ cell phone memory. The hacker is presently shopping a series of naughty pictures of the teen to celebrity snitch sites.

Miley Cyrus: Workin’ Hard at the Beach

With a super-full schedule like hers, it’s no wonder Miley Cyrus started off the day on Wednesday with a stop at her local Starbucks Coffeehouse for a hearty dose of caffeine.

From there, the “Hannah Montana” starlet headed over to her Paradise Cove movie set to spend a long day hanging out with hot guys who carried her around on a surf board for little filming. Her mother Tish was nearby paying close attention to her teenage daughter.

As for the musical facet of her career, Miley is looking forward to the release of her new album Break Out, due to hit store shelves and online retailers this July 22nd.

She told press, “I just hope this record showcases that - more than anything - I’m a writer,” referring to the fact that she wrote all but two of the songs on it.

With that kind of personal touch, Break Out is sure to be a closer look at the real Cyrus, who recently described her personality to People. “Really, I think I’m chill. I am very hyper, but I’m very carefree.”
